How do you expressive yourself artistically? Perhaps you paint, play a musical instrument, or create pottery. Whatever it is, we want to hear about it!
Alternatively, how do you enjoy art? Is there an art exhibit that you’re still thinking about or a music festival that you attend every year?

All of the above, but thought I would share my most recent project from over the weekend. I bought this mermaid in Barberville, FL. She had been badly damaged in a storm and my dad patched her up with car putty and I repainted her tail. For my birthday this year I visited the DeLand Museum of art and got to see a display by Carlie Trosclair which was really cool. I love this month’s post so much, can’t wait to read what everyone else says!
My kids LOVE to do anything arts and crafts related, so we do a ton of activities. My favorite to watch them do is free paint on canvas. The imagination and beautiful pictures that come out of them (ages 4 and 6) is absolutely amazing!
At home, my new favorite is cement and molds and making different things like flower pots, vases, candle holders, trays, etc. I make them and then after everything is dry, the kids love to paint them. They are very excited with Mother’s Day coming up to make special jewelry trays and vases for the Grandmas!
When taking a class, pottery is so FUN to do. For my husband’s birthday last year, we did a pottery class together and I love what we made and that we were able to do something like that together. More than the art itself, I find in my experiences, that art brings me closer together with people; it is rarely done in isolation, so art is a bonding time for me and my family.
I love to draw, pencil portrait mainly. Lately, we’ve been trying to establish a family artistic Sunday afternoon to be all together and express our creativity at the same time. We haven’t been able to manage every Sunday, but I enjoy it greatly.
I also like to sing, but it certainly does not qualify as art. Might not even qualify as noise actually. :)
I love the glass art from Chihuly. I personally am not artistic at all but love to try and create things from seeing other designs such as in a flower garden, etc.
I like to sketch. By drawing the world in my hand with a pencil, I can see the world differently and express it with my own emotions is very attractive.
I want to draw better and capture my own personality.
I don’t express myself well artistically and I can’t appreciate art.
I share what type of music I am listening to at the moment and sing along (creating noise pollution) at times.
I enjoy doing pencil sketches of cartoons whenever I have free time. When I’m not riding, this is my go-to activity and I absolutely love it.

The Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum in Seattle is amazing! It’s incredible to see what he creates with glass.

@Chee Heng_SZ I believe music is a form of art and if you’re having fun singing along, keep doing it!
Personally, I love visiting art museums! In fact, a while back I made a trip to Naoshima Island which is a small island in Japan filled with world-class art museums. Visitors (like myself) arrive early, rent a bike, and go from museum to museum while enjoying the gorgeous weather! To this day, it’s been one of my favorite trips. Below is a pic I took of the famous Yayoi Kusama pumpkin on the island.

We have a Chihuly installation that spans multiple stories plus an exhibit at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. I love it so much!
I express myself artistically through dance (and - in my younger years - performing in the theater). I am tickled that both my girls have taken up dance and musical theater as well.
I’m a quilter and textile artist! I love working with fabric - so many colors and textures to explore.
Sadly this is an area of my life that has suffered from lack of attention, when I had more free time I really enjoyed sewing.
I would love to do more in this, but I don't have the patience for it and am too perfectionist. So when I have some free time, I spend it on other things.
I’m not artistically inclined, but seeing famous pieces of art is always amazing. My favorite so far has been the Chicago Museum and all of the artwork there. Nighthawks, American Gothic etc...
I like to paint and play guitar. I can’t claim I am truly good at either, but for me it is more about the journey than the finished product. I just find them both incredibly relaxing.

Hopefully you can make it to X4 in Seattle next year and visit the Chihuly Museum here!
Hello,
I like to paint, knit and crochet. I majorly do canvas painting and have current obsession with Gouache paints.
I try to visit any art exhibit , but yes I do visit and join many workshops/ groups as there is no limit of learning new things.
I like to cook new cuisines, if that can be considered as art...
I have a passion for photography, especially capturing outdoor landscapes in the mountains. I also enjoy experimenting with portrait shots and food photography — I’m a bit of a foodie, after all ;)
I express myself artistically through crochet. I especially enjoy creating blouses and amigurumis, particularly those shaped like small animals or flowers. It’s an activity that really relaxes me, and I love seeing how something full of life and color can come together from just a single strand of yarn. I’m very drawn to anything involving patterns, I find it calming to stay focused and really satisfying when the final result looks aesthetic and symmetrical.
I also really enjoy going to the theater. I used to love attending concerts as well, but over time I started to experience some social anxiety in large crowds, so now I prefer artistic activities that are quieter and in more controlled settings.
I’m slowly learning to watercolor as an artistic outlet. BUT my true first love of artistic expression is bread making!
I’m the singer in a small, very casual jazz band with my colleagues -- we meet once a week and jam from the Real Book on jazz standards, some newer jazz tunes, and sometimes pop songs (or classic rock) when we really want to shake things up!
I learned to rug hook many years ago. I usually use recycled wool in my projects. Here is a Westie I did for my aunt’s 75th birthday.
