Error Message Appearing on multiple CX Dashboard Widgets | XM Community

Hi everyone,

First time poster on this forum and a very novice user of Qualtrics.

Over the last month, my CX dashboard has been displaying a “An unexpected error has occurred.” message on some of our widgets, such as a number chart widget we have to display the # of completed surveys and vertical bar widget showing the distribution of 0-10 rating scale. Some other widgets are displaying properly, such as simple charts. 

When I attempt to even edit the error widgets, the same error message will also appear on the window which does not allow me to even see what metrics I’ve chosen for that specific widget (see image below).

All of the data going into this dashboard is owned by the same Brand Administrator and there is only one data source for each dashboard. 

Has anyone experienced this before and were able to fix it? I have reached out to the Qualtrics Support Team but I still have not received a solution over the past month.

Sometimes I face the same issue. I just delete that widget and reconfigure it and it works fine for me. Normally in my scenario it would be a bug. You can just reconfigure it once as a quick fix and reach out to support for more info.

Sometimes I have also faced this issue. But for me it was like a bug, I would just reconfigure the widget and it would start working fine for me. You can try to reconfigure the widgets as a quick fix.


Hi Laiyonda, try reconfiguring the widget once again and check the metrics for the widget.


Try to copy the widget, sometimes this will work. Or ensure the data piping the widget is unchanged. Ensure only relevant filters are turned on.


Adding additional info here as we’ve been trying to fix this issue with ​@laiyonda. We’ve even tried to recreate a brand new number chart and we instantly get the error message. If some of you have an answer, we’d be more than happy to hear it. Thanks
