How to end survey early | XM Community

Hello,

Sorry I am a noob and am in tears.

I’d like the option to end the survey as soon as the volunteer selects an answer deeming them ineldigble to participant in the study (to avoid wasting their time further).

I thought I followed the instructions but it’s not working - When I test, i get to that question and rather than ending the survey it continues to the next question :(

Do I need to have all questions as an individual block???  What am I missing?

Please help 🙏🙏

Hello @unique_username

To structure your survey correctly, please organize it into separate blocks:

  • Place your initial set of questions in the first block.
  • Create a second block containing only the eligibility question or you can also keep this question at the end of first block.
  • After the eligibility block, insert an End of Survey element with a condition set to trigger if the response is 'No' (i.e. the participant is not eligible).
  • Add a third block containing all remaining questions intended for eligible participants.

This way, only participants who meet the eligibility criteria will proceed to the rest of the survey, while others will exit after the eligibility check.

Let me if this helps.

You can also use skip logic on the individual question to skip to the end of the survey:

On the left hand side of your survey it’s under question behavior.  I’ve used this to take respondents that don’t agree to the terms or aren’t in the demographic I need.

@unique_username,

It appears that your “Have you been diagnosed...” question is in a block with 20 questions. If you want to terminate those that answer ‘Yes’ immediately, add skip logic to the question to skip to end of block if Yes is selected.

Thank you!

I do have 13 eligiblity questions. But I tried your instructions for the first question and the survey continues to go to the next question instead of ending the survey :(

Thank you! That looks so much easier! Unfortunately doesn’t look like I can send them to a customised end of survey message.

In Block 2 you see something as ‘Add below’. Move your end of survey message with condition there. This approach will help you to add customised end of survey message as well.
